The Capitol Free-mo Modelers setup our modules at the Great Scale Model Train Show on January 31 - February 1, 2015. We had 88 feet of modules - with 82 feet on the main and another 6 feet on the branch.
Eight members with modules (with one under construction) attended during the two days.
Due to having more curves, we were able to set up in the shape of a "U".
Starting at one end was "NAPCO", the first part of a three-section module being built by Matt Piccotto;
following this was Dan Piccotto's 21-foot, three-section module, which included "Aliceanna Yard", "Boston Street" and "Southwest Broom",
next Larry Case was testing the trackwork on two new 45-degree curves (they do need some tweaking);
then there was "Wye Knot", which Dan said he will be rebuilding soon;
off the branch of that was a new four-footer under construction by Don Miller;
continuing back on the main were the three-parts of Larry Case's "DAC Siding", a passing track module;
next to this was "Instant Scenery", another curve that attend the 2014 NTS (Tim Moran of Western Reserve Free-mo gave it to Matt for Capitol Free-mo when they were together at the Amherst Railway Society Railroad Hobby Show the week before);
this was followed by Dave Beckstein's curved module "Forest Hills";
next was a short, shallow curve, from Dan Picciotto, "Sinkhole Lake";
then there was "Clarence, Ill.", a straight two-section, eight-foot module being built by Clarence Guenther;
switching was being done on Dave Beckstein's double-ended "Plank Yard", twelve-feet long, with four tracks;
and end of the line was Nicole Piccotto's "Lacey's Bend", a slightly curved module.
We finally have enough curves to make more than a 180-turn, but now we need to get everything looking better. Still, if anyone wants to construct some new modules - continue to think CURVES, CURVES, CURVES...
